PF CSPI, as part of the «Umay» Project, jointly with the «COVID-19 mitigation project » under the KPG — C19RM programs with funding from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, conducted a training on «Prevention and Response to Gender and Domestic Violence among Key Population Groups»<\/span> <\/strong>on December 13 and 14, 2022.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The format of the training was combined — online and offline.<\/span><\/p>\n

Participants were familiarized with topical issues such as:<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. -Causes of gender stereotypes and violence.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Legislative norms of the Republic of Kazakhstan and international obligations of the Republic of Kazakhstan in gender violence issues.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. The impact of gender violence in the context of gender identity and ways of working with a transgender group.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Peculiarities of working with key populations.<\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Consequences of gender violence: psychological, social. How they affect the spread of HIV.<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. Response protocol and additional measures taken by police in cases of gender\/domestic violence.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

       <\/p>\n

      Together with trainers, including experienced NGO staff, as well as a Senior Inspector of the Group for Protection of Women from Violence of the LPA DP for Almaty, participants learned the basics of creating services for victims of gender-based violence and studied best practices.<\/span><\/p>\n

      In the course of training we managed to create collaborative atmosphere that facilitated an interagency discussion on responding to the needs in services for the key groups of women experiencing violence.\u00a0 Representatives of NGOs and the police exchanged their personal contacts and contacts of professionals providing services to support women.<\/span><\/p>\n
