National Navigation Service for Friendly Services VICH.KZ

The project was implemented with the participation of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria as part of the COVID-19 Response Mechanism (C19MR). The project complements the implementation of the AmaBol PrEP project. In 2021, the project aimed to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on ongoing HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria programs and strengthen the national response to COVID-19. During the project, services were expanded as much as possible for all KGNs. The project included online consultations with web specialists, referrals for DCP, and support from psychotherapists and psychologists.

Key results achieved include:

  • 11 employees were trained to provide online counseling and referrals to medical facilities
  • 5 psychologists and psychotherapists were trained to work with key populations and PLHIV
  • employees conducted 9,489 consultations and referrals on various issues related to KGN and PLHIV
  • Psychotherapists conducted 565 sessions.
  • Psychologists consulted with 3,451 clients.

The project infrastructure, including the vich.kz website + social networks, staff equipment, information campaigns, protocols, and algorithms, was transferred to the KNCDIZ, regional HIV centers, and NGOs to continue working with key populations and PLHIV.
